EGM Notification

An Extraordinary General Meeting of the Association will be held on Saturday 29th November, 2008 at Le Moulin, La Petite Verriere at 10.30 Hrs.

The purpose of the meeting is to elect a new Committee for the Association in accordance with its Statutes.

A minimum of 5 (five) Committee members is required for the Association. Once elected, the new Committee will need to appoint the following officers-

a) President

b)Association Secretary

c) Treasurer

d) Membership Secretary

Nominations for the Committee vacancies are invited from all qualifying members of the Association. (A qualifying members is deemed to be a current subscribing member).

Each nominee must be proposed and seconded by a qualifying member.

Nominations must be submitted to the Association by 17.00 Hrs on Wednesday 19th November, 2008.

The list of nominations for the Committee vacancies shall be published on the website by Friday 21st November, 2008.

To allow for the full participation of all qualifying members in the election of the new Committee, those qualifying members who are unable to attend the EGM Meeting may vote for the nominated candidates by e-mail; again e-mails to be sent to the Association e-mail address This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Votes by e-mail must be received by the Association by 17.00 Hrs on Wednesday 26th November, 2008.

We would like to hold a luncheon for all attendees of the EGM after the meeting. In order to arrange a suitable menu plan, price for diners and to let the restaurant know of numbers, would members wishing to have luncheon after the meeting please inform us by e-mail ( again to the Association e-mail address) no later than Friday 21st November, 2008.

We would like to urge all members whose membership has lapsed, to check their renewal date ( which is on your membership card) and ensure qualification to participate in this important process. Renewal of your membership (if lapsed) can be made easily through the paypal system on the website. This can be found under the dropdown menu on the Burgundyfriends button on the website homepage.
