ABOUT US

Burgundy Friends is a non-profit making Association.  The Association has a board of directors who are elected from the membership annually and are in place to oversee the running of the Association.  Members give their time without payment to provide this website for the benefit of others.  The Members are passionate about Burgundy, many of them live in Burgundy year round.  The Members are of all nationalities, of all ages, and of all backgrounds.  Burgundy Friends offers a unique way of networking with like minded individuals in Burgundy. 

Advertising on this website

From time to time space will be available on this website and in any other communications for general advertising.  Advertisers can be members or non-members.

Burgundy Friends has the right to refuse requests for adverts from advertisers.

All adverts accepted by Burgundy Friends will be subject to our full terms of use as detailed in points 1 - 14 below.

By accepting your advert Burgundy Friends makes no guarantees to the number of enquiries or bookings or sales you receive/make as a direct result of this website.

Your advert will not be published until paid for in full. 

Membership Terms 

Any one of any age can become a member.

To become a member, a valid email address is required.

Members residing in Burgundy are encouraged to actively take part, by organising events throughout the year.  Members are also requested to help with the networking aspect of the Association, grow the network and give added value to all visitors to the website.

Members are asked to complete a simple application on joining, the content of which is made available to other members via the Members Directory.   The Members Directory is found within the members protected area of the Noticeboard, and is therefore only available to other members, for the sole purpose of networking.  Any unsolicited marketing beingprohibited.  Members are asked to comply with the terms listed below, in particular Point 8. 

Members found to be in breach of these terms will have their membership terminated immediately.

Payment can be accepted by cash, cheque or via Paypal.  For payments made by Paypal, there is a small surcharge.

On acceptance of the application for membership, the Member will be issued with a Membership card entitling them to discounts at participating outlets, services, websites.  The card is also to be shown at any event attended.  

Noticeboard Registration Terms

While the administrators and moderators of the noticeboard will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to this noticeboard express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable. You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree not to post any advertising material unless agreed by the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this noticeboard. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this noticeboard have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised. This noticeboard system uses cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information you have entered; they serve only to improve your viewing pleasure. The e-mail address is used only for confirming your registration details and password (and for sending new passwords should you forget your current one). The email address will also be added to our (Burgundy Friends) email distribution list, which will enable you to be kept informed about our development.

Use of Information

Burgundy Friends is the sole owner of any information collected when designing, building and promoting this website. We will not disclose any of this information to any 3rd party other than any exceptions contained below.

Notification

Any changes, material or other to our terms and privacy policy will be displayed upon our website.  They are also available at anytime via email.

Membership Directory

Details of Members are listed on the Membership Directory, for the sole use of Members, within the Members protected area on the Noticeboard.  The details listed are agreed with the Member before publishing on the live website and on our printed version of the directory.  If you decide to cease your membership for any reason, then naturally your details will be removed from the directory.

Burgundy Friends may from time to time display links to external websites. Please note that we are not responsible for, and do not control, the privacy policy of external websites. When you leave our website we encourage you to read the privacy statements of each linked website.

Security

Burgundy Friends takes reasonable precautions to protect our user information. Any sensitive information submitted to Burgundy Friends either via the website or by external email will be protected in accordance with this.

E-mail Communication

Any information requested from Burgundy Friends will be sent via email.  Where this is not available, we will contact you in another format.  Details are held on our database for our future use. You may opt out of our database at any time.
